Step into the shoes of a diplomat for an afternoon.
In this fast-paced simulation, you and other students represent different countries in an international negotiation. You receive a country brief, define your goals and red lines, give short opening statements and then move between formal rounds and informal back-room talks to build coalitions and work towards a joint final text.
The case you will work on is inspired by real current affairs and combines politics, economics and finance. You will have to balance national interests, European cooperation and limited budgets – all under time pressure.
You will experience what the work of a policy officer or diplomat feels like: analysing complex problems, negotiating in English and thinking both strategically and pragmatically. After the simulation, there is room for reflection, feedback and your questions about a career in international policy.
